How We Verify Every Attorney on Our Platform
When clients trust you with their most sensitive legal matters, half-measures aren't acceptable.
Our 7-Step Verification Process
Step 1: Bar License Verification
We query each state bar's public API directly. No self-reporting. If the license isn't active, the attorney can't list.
Step 2: Disciplinary History Check
We cross-reference ABA disciplinary databases and flag any suspensions, censures, or active investigations.
Step 3: Identity Verification
Government-issued ID verification through our identity partner — we confirm the attorney on our platform is the licensed professional.
Step 4: Malpractice Insurance Confirmation
We require proof of current malpractice coverage with minimum limits appropriate for the practice area.
Step 5: Practice Area Competency Assessment
Attorneys complete a structured assessment for each practice area they list. We don't allow generalist listings in specialized fields.
Step 6: Client Reference Check
New attorneys provide 3 client references we contact directly. This is waived after 10 verified platform reviews.
Step 7: Ongoing Monitoring
Bar status is re-verified monthly. Any change triggers an immediate account review.
